The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is among the five largest conservation agencies in the world.
They approached us with a challenging brief to design a logo for a new wildlife trafficking prevention training program, targeting law enforcement officials.
The program will be initially piloted in Vietnam and Indonesia but with the plan to later roll out globally. This meant the name would be translated into the local language, requiring a logo that allowed the name to be changed without affecting its integrity. It also meant any animal reference used in the design needed to be globally appropriate.
The eye in the final design symbolises an animal, but also the watchful eye over criminals. The pattern around the eyes draws inspiration from animals like the Macaw and also represent tusks or claws. The shape is dynamic, which suggests action and leadership.
